Rohit Chandrashekhar Kaushal (born 30 June 2011) is an Indian karate player from Mhow, Madhya Pradesh. He holds a First Dan Black Belt and serves as a Sensei for the ALET Sports Academy team. He has represented India internationally, winning a bronze medal at the Universal International Karate Championship in Nepal in 2025.

Early life and education

Rohit Kaushal was born on 30 June 2011 in Mhow, Indore district, Madhya Pradesh. He is currently pursuing his education at Shreyas Little Champs Academy. His father, the late Chandrashekhar Kaushal, has passed away, and his mother, Archana Kaushal, is a businesswoman.

Career

Kaushal began his formal sports training in August 2025 after meeting mentor Shihan Amay Lashkari during a fencing tournament. He subsequently joined the ALET Sports Academy, training under Lashkari. While his primary focus is karate, he also trains in Fencing and Kickboxing.

On 14 November 2025, he attained the rank of First Dan Black Belt. Due to his performance and leadership skills, he was appointed as a Team Sensei at his academy.

National and state competitions

In October 2025, Kaushal competed in the 21st National Karate-Do Championship organized by the State Bank of India (SBI) in Kanyakumari, Tamil Nadu, where he won a Gold Medal in the Kumite event.

He also participated in the International Shito-Ryu Karate Organization of India (ISKOI) National Championship in Rishikesh, securing a Silver Medal in Kumite. Later in November 2025, he was selected to represent the Madhya Pradesh state team at the National Karate Championship.

On 30 November 2025, he won a Gold Medal in Kumite at the Senshikan Cup Championship in Punjab. Continuing his winning streak, he secured another Gold Medal in Kumite at the School National Championship on 4 January 2026. He also performed exceptionally well at the State Karate Championship in Bhopal, winning a Gold Medal in Kumite and a Bronze Medal in Kata.

International competitions

In December 2025, Kaushal represented India at the 1st Universal International Karate Championship held in Kathmandu, Nepal. The tournament featured participants from countries including Pakistan, Qatar, Bangladesh, and Bhutan. Kaushal secured a Bronze Medal in the Kumite event.

He is currently preparing for an upcoming International Championship scheduled to be held in Thailand in May, and is also training with aspirations to compete in the 2029 Asian Games.

Training camps and seminars

Apart from competitive tournaments, Kaushal actively participates in professional martial arts training camps. He has attended the 23rd Alert National Kaushiki Martial Art Seminar, as well as National Karate Seminars focusing on belt grading and advanced Kata/Kumite training.
